    Description

Nice clear shot showing a soldier in the Landsturm Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon from Munich. Looks like IB 16 was a part of I Bayern Army Corps, which fought exclusively on the western front.
There is a fingernail pressure scratch on his face, and oxidation around the border of the photo.  It sounds like Karl Bandow has been showing a "proven method" of restoration using Renaissance Wax, so if you have some handy I would expect this image would really pop back to life with a little elbow grease.  Photo card has some dings along the top edge but otherwise no other issues.  There is a penciled studio number on the reverse, but nothing else written.
