    Description

    This set includes 5 items;
A never used, MINT set commemorating and celebrating Smokey's 40th Anniversary of Public Service issued by the USPS in 1984.
    A
    beautiful and colorful
    "Forest Fire Prevention"
    commemorative souvenir print by
    Dolli Tingle
of forest animals around a campfire in the forest, all gazing at the fire with worried looks on their faces. This print is on embossed, sturdy card stock paper with 4 USPS Smokey stamps attached and sealed under a plastic sheet. The history of
    Smokey The Bear
    , history of the artist
    Albert Staehle
who created the first Smokey cartoon character, and history of the artist
    Rudolph Wendelin,
who designed the stamp, are all printed on this souvenir. It measures approximately 10 x 13 inches. No marks, folds, tears, creases, nor wear at all. It looks brand new!
Two full sheets of 50 stamps each, never hinged, unmarked, selvage (including corners) and undisturbed original gum. They were never mounted and are just as fresh as when they were purchased from the Post Office 37 years ago.
The stamps and print were all purchased together, put in a folder and stored for 37 years until recently. Hence, the souvenir set is in mint condition, having never been used nor displayed.
A 1989 Forest Service "ONLY YOU" Smokey the Bear holding a shovel poster. 10 x 7 inches. Good Condition with some very slight creasing, very light rub marks on the front and
more pronounced rub marks on the back
    .
A 1987 USPS "American Wildlife Stamps" Folder (no stamps). 11 x 9 inches. Some light creases, but otherwise in good condition.
Please view the photos for details and condition.
Ships via USPS First Class Mail or USPS Priority Mail (if you would like it insured).
