Independent Order of Odd Fellows Medal / Ceremonial Piece Vintage 1930-40s IOOF

This is an interesting item from the Independent Order of Odd Fellows from the 1930s-1940s. I'm not exactly sure of the purpose; it kind of looks like a hanging badge or medal but it has a round tube attached to the back. I assume something like a round piece of wood or material fits through it, possibly something that hung around the neck or a ceremonial piece of some sort. It measures 5" tall and the bottom piece is 2.25" wide. It has an enameled red, white, and blue Odd Fellows chain symbol with the letters FLT inside. It has crossed swords on the bottom. The back is stamped "

" It is in very nice, original condition.
