EXTREMELY RARE FIREMAN ASSOCIATION BROADSIDE. 1840 MOBILE, ALABAMA. 16" X 22"
E4982-66. Extremely rare and early American Fire Department Association Broadside . Alabama , 1840.  With a very attractive hand colored lithograph printed by P.S Duval of Philadelphia and drawn directly on stone by Philadelphia premier artist , lithographer and chromolithographer James Queen, known for his attention to detail and composition. Just look at the Fire scene the artist draw !!! Pictures don't really make justice to this piece.  The broadside certifies that W. Stuart was enrolled as a member of the Fire Department Association of MOBILE, Alabama on September 12th , 1840 and signed by the secretary and president of the association.  The Broadside was professionally backed on linen and is ready to be framed. Measure 15 1/2" wide x 21 1/2" tall approx.  The paper had some issues before been backed in linen as can be seen in pictures  but it's now strong and will last for another couple of hundred years.
