The note is of rather thin paper and retains quite a bit of its original stiffens, crispiness and sheen. It is an attractive note, with evidence of light handling and minimum wear. It has light vertical folds and horizontal folds. The note has some soiling and light staining mostly in the left bottom corner. Its colors are still vivid & without fading. The edges of the note do not show any appreciable roughness and the corners are intact with minimum rounding and bumping if any. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears and no splits and.     Description:
    A beautiful and rather uncommon very fine or much better banknote from France. This is the 23-8-1945 One Thousand francs or Mille Francs currency Note. The banknote is blue and multicolored on both sides. It shows Minerva and Hercules surrounded by Pegasus, flowers, and birds in the center of the front. The back has the same coloring as the front and shows the bust of a woman in the center with the denomination top left and top right and the name of the bank bottom center. This is a relatively scarce banknote with a very elaborate design issued at the end of World War II. This particular note has the serial number 251997942 displayed top center of the front but is not shown on the back. It has the date E.23-8-1945.E. shown in the upper right corner of the front. The front has three signatures. The note has two watermarks one of a man's head the other a woman's head. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
