Details
Description:
A nice very fine or better banknote from France. This is the G.4-10-1962.G Ten or Dix Nouveaux Francs. The banknote is multi colored with light red or pink being the prevailing color. It has the image of Cardinal Richelieu whose name is Armand Jean du Plessis to the right of the front with the image of the Cardinal's palace throughout the front. The back has basically the same color scheme with the image of the cardinal to the left and the town gate for Richelieu. This particular note has the serial number 0617051317 and is series V.247. It also has three signatures on the front. The banknote has a water mark depicting the bust of cardinal Richelieu in profile. Please carefully review the scans provided as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date:
October 4, 1962.
Printer:
Bank of France.
Size:
The banknote measures ~5 15/16" by ~3 3/16".
Pick Number:
P 142a.
Condition:
I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine or better with all the details being very well preserved. The note has three vertical folds and a horizontal fold. It is generally clean and has some small and light stains. The edges are intact and show minimum roughness. The corners are intact with some minor bumping and some rounding. The note has no tears, no splits, no pinholes (a miracle for a French note), and no graffiti. The note retains some of its original stiffness and crispiness. A great example of this rather scarce banknote offered here at a reasonable price. A great note to add to your collection. Please see scans for additional condition information.
